Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 1 December 2025. By purchasing a ticket or attending a Duke Entertainment event, you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions set out below.

1. Ticket Validity

Tickets are valid only for the specific event, date, time, and venue shown on the booking confirmation. All ticket sales are final. Once a ticket has been purchased, no refunds, exchanges, credits, or transfers are permitted, except where required by law.

2. Cancellations, Postponements & Changes

All purchases are non-refundable. Duke Entertainment does not accept voluntary cancellations or changes requested by the purchaser.

If an event is cancelled, postponed, or materially changed by Duke Entertainment or the venue:

• We will use reasonable efforts to notify ticket holders via email and/or our official channels.
• Alternative arrangements such as a replacement date, venue, or session time may be offered.
• No cash refunds will be issued unless required by applicable consumer law.

3. Admission Requirements

Admission is subject to venue rules, capacity limits, health and safety requirements, and any applicable age or identification (ID) restrictions.

• Attendees may be required to present a valid photo ID for age-restricted screenings.
• Latecomers may be refused entry or seated at a suitable break in the programme at the venue’s discretion.
• Failure to comply with venue rules may result in refusal of entry or removal without refund.

4. Code of Conduct

Guests are expected to behave respectfully towards staff, fellow patrons, and the venue at all times. Duke Entertainment and venue management reserve the right to:

• Refuse entry, or
• Remove any person from the premises

who is intoxicated, disruptive, abusive, or otherwise causing a disturbance, without refund or compensation.

5. Anti-Piracy Policy

To protect copyright and the interests of our partners, the following anti-piracy rules apply at all screenings:

• The use of recording devices (including phones, cameras, tablets, laptops, smartwatches, or any audio/video equipment) during screenings is strictly prohibited.
• Security and staff may monitor the auditorium to enforce this policy.
• Anyone caught recording or attempting to record any part of a screening will be removed immediately, their device may be inspected where lawful, and they may face legal action.
• Unauthorized recording, sharing, or distribution of copyrighted content is a criminal offense and may be reported to the appropriate authorities.
• By attending, guests acknowledge and agree to comply fully with these anti-piracy measures.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Duke Entertainment (and its directors, employees, and agents) is not liable for:

• Any personal injury or illness,
• Loss, theft, or damage to personal property, or
• Any indirect or consequential loss

arising out of or in connection with attendance at an event, except where such liability cannot be excluded under applicable law.

7. Privacy Notice

Personal information collected during the booking process (including names, contact details, and payment information) is used for:

• Processing your ticket purchase,
• Communicating event updates or changes, and
• Fulfilling legal and reporting obligations.

We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Force Majeure

Duke Entertainment is not liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where the failure or delay results from events or circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including:

• Natural disasters or extreme weather events,
• Strikes, industrial disputes, or labour shortages,
• Public health emergencies, government restrictions, or lockdowns,
• Power outages, technical failures, or utility disruptions,
• Acts of terrorism, civil unrest, or other security concerns.

9. Film Classification Ratings (New Zealand)

Guests must comply with New Zealand’s official film classification ratings. It is an offence to allow a person under the specified age to view a restricted film. Key ratings include:

10. Purchase of Products or Services

By purchasing any product or service through this website or our authorised ticketing partners, you agree to these Terms & Conditions and our Terms of Use.

Persons under 16 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian’s permission to complete any transaction, and the parent or guardian will be deemed the contracting party.

11. Classification Compliance & ID Checks

You must not purchase tickets for, or permit attendance by, any person who is legally restricted from viewing a film due to its classification.

• We may request photo ID to verify age at the point of ticket purchase or entry.
• Entry may be refused without refund if age requirements are not met or ID cannot be provided.

12. Cinema Policies

Individual cinemas hosting Duke Entertainment events may apply their own house rules in addition to these terms, including but not limited to:

• Dress codes and conditions of entry,
• Responsible service of alcohol, and
• Safety and security screening requirements.

Use of cameras, audio, or video recording devices inside screening areas is strictly prohibited, except with prior written permission for authorised media or promotional activities.

13. Food & Beverage Policy

Unless otherwise stated by the venue, only water may be brought into the cinema from outside. Other food or beverages are not permitted to be brought in.

A limited selection of dairy-free, vegan, and low-gluten options may be available at some venues. For specific dietary requirements or allergies, please contact the cinema directly before attendance.
